04.17.12 – AMD Behind Award-Winning Campbell House Visitor Center
Anderson Mraz Design recently put its exhibit design skills to work for the Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture, creating an interactive experience around the Campbell House, the museum’s historic turn-of-the-century home. The Campbell House Visitor Center, located on the main floor of the home’s carriage house, opened in December.

“AMD helped us clarify our messages and select compelling images for a modern, self-guided, and interactive exhibit in the carriage house,” explained Marsha Rooney, senior curator of history at the MAC. “Now, creative graphics and touchscreen installations allow visitors a closer look inside Campbell House and to discover more about their lives.”
AMD was responsible for nearly all areas of the project, from research and writing to design and fabrication. The exhibit won Gold and Best of Division Awards at the 2012 Inland Northwest ADDY Awards Competition.
“The Campbell House has always been open for guided tours,” added AMD principal and creative director CK Anderson, “but hundreds of archival and collection materials related to the home remained in storage. The carriage house serves as a primer, encouraging visitors to learn more about the Campbell family story.”
03.20.12 – AMD Scores Silver, Gold, and Best of Division
Anderson Mraz Design was honored with six awards at the 2012 Inland Northwest ADDY® Awards Competition, held March 9 at the Masonic Temple. Some 400 entries were judged in 16 divisions, with Gold and Silver ADDYs awarded in each category of competition at the discretion of the judges.

03.12.12 – It Pays to Save
For more than 30 years, Avista has been offering energy efficiency programs for its commercial and industrial customers in two ways: providing financial incentives to implement energy-saving measures, and to use the most effective means to deliver energy efficiency services.

But what does all that mean?
We talked with Avista account executives and long-time customers to see how the savings add up, then embarked on a print ad campaign that explains the benefits of Avista’s programs from those customers’ perspectives. To date, the ads have featured Kiemle & Hagood, Spokane Teachers Credit Union, and Central Valley School District, each of whom sharing real results.
The ads have been placed in a number of publications, including Alaska Air’s In-Flight magazine and the Wall Street Journal.
02.22.12 – Website Redesign for Hecla Mining Company
With a little help from Anderson Mraz Design, Hecla Mining Company recently launched a new version of its corporate website. Totaling more than 100 pages, the site includes financial information and data feeds from two third-party vendors and a custom Content Management System.

“As a large, publically-traded company,” said principal and creative director CK Anderson, “Hecla’s website is an important channel for sharing information. They don’t hold back on the site’s content, which makes it meaningful to a very wide audience.”
Visitors to hecla-mining.com can access reports and presentations, view broadcast interviews, and get detailed information about operating mines and pre-development properties.
“AMD has worked on several projects for us,” added Jeanne DuPont, Corporate Communications Coordinator at Hecla, “and once again, they did a superb job. Even as the scope of the website grew substantially, they met each challenge without hesitation.”
AMD has provided creative services for Hecla since 1988, including annual reports, print advertising, tradeshow materials, and the previous iteration of the company’s website.
02.01.12 – AMD Engineers a Website Refresh
Varela & Associates, an engineering and management firm specializing in public works projects and infrastructure planning, recently sought out AMD’s help in breathing new life into its website.

Smaller municipalities and rural counties make up the bulk of Varela’s clientele; a large part of the firm’s success comes not only from its planning, design, and management expertise, but also in its ability to procure funding for what can be expensive projects. It was therefore important for the website to clearly communicate to potential clients the wide range of services Varela offers, as well as provide case studies of work performed across the state.
The result is a website that leverages Varela’s easygoing and friendly personality while demonstrating solid credentials and an unwavering commitment to customer service.
01.18.12 – A 125-Year Legacy Is Honored at Sacred Heart
A 22-foot-long wall display honoring the service of Spokane’s Sisters of Providence was dedicated at Sacred Heart Medical Center in September. Designed by Anderson Mraz Design, the display features the names of every Sister who served during Sacred Heart’s 125-year history.

“What a memorable way to honor our Sisters of Providence,” said Joyce Cameron, chief development officer, Providence Sacred Heart Foundations. “I knew when this project was first discussed that AMD was the right team for the job.”
The display, a series of connected geometric shapes fabricated from aluminum and plexiglas, also touches on the story of the Sisters’ arrival in Spokane. “It’s an exceptional piece of history,” added Cameron. “We’ve had rave reviews from visitors and staff. And of course the Sisters themselves are thrilled with the project.”
“The legacy of the Sisters’ contributions to patients, families, and our community is inspiring,” said AMD creative director CK Anderson. “For us, few projects are as meaningful as those that tell a unique story about people with a gift for compassion.”
