AMD has been selected to design a permanent exhibit to be installed in the Five Mile Schoolhouse, a 1939 two-room school located at the intersection of Strong and Five Mile Roads. The schoolhouse is currently under renovation. The exhibit, slated to open August 2006, commemorates the pioneer spirit of Five Mile Prairie’s settlers, the formation of School District 50, and the teachers and students who were a part of education on the prairie for nearly ninety years.

08.30.05 – MPA Campaign Committee Wins Dussault Award
Spokane Public Relations Council has awarded the Michael P. Anderson Memorial Statue Fund campaign committee its Dussault Award, given annually to organizations that provide a noteworthy contribution to the community. AMD collaborated in the statue’s design and created campaign materials. "The memorial is not about the man," said Ivan Bush, Spokane Public Schools EEO Officer, "it’s about his legacy – and appreciating the value and contributions of everyone in Spokane toward this legacy."
08.23.05 – AMD Designs Book for MAC Exhibit
Anderson Mraz Design recently completed work on Enchanted Visions: The Taos Society of Artists & Ancient Cultures, a forty-four page publication accompanying a six-month-long exhibit by the same name at the Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture. A collaborative effort, Enchanted Visions includes contributions from various artists, curators, and anthropologists.

AMD has promoted senior designer Shirlee Roberts to Associate – the first such designation in the design firm’s seventeen-year history. "We’re pleased to acknowledge Shirlee’s contribution to the success of this firm," said CK Anderson, principal at AMD. "She’s committed to our organization, our philosophy, and serving our clients." Among her new responsibilities, Roberts will play a pivotal role in strategic planning for AMD’s clients.

For the seventeenth consecutive year, AMD created Hecla Mining Company’s Annual Report. Mining, Exploring & Developing was a collaboration between AMD’s design team, commercial photographer Jim Van Gundy, and Hecla Vice President of Investor and Public Relations Vicki Veltkamp, who wrote the report.

After thirty years, Whitworth College wanted to redesign their pirate-head logo to be more representative of all student-athletes and coaches. Using Whitworth’s traditional red and black colors, AMD developed a custom typographical solution and added a familiar pirate symbol. "The new logo allows us to project a higher level of uniformity," says Scott McQuilkin, Whitworth’s Director of Athletics, "but also gives us a kit of parts that will allow our athletic programs to use the logo in a variety of ways that will all look terrific."

The Spokane Advertising Federation has selected CK Anderson as Spokane’s 2004 Ad Pro of the Year at this year’s ADDY Awards presentation. This prestigious award honors those whose leadership has contributed to the advancement of the advertising community in the Inland Northwest. "I’m honored," said Anderson. "There are so many talented professionals here, doing so much to raise the profile of the local advertising community – I’m proud to be a part of it." CK now joins John Mraz, AMD’s other founding partner, in having received this award.
